Dr. George A. Oley, III
George A. Oley, III is the fourth of seven children of George and Rose Oley, Richmond natives, who owned and operated a restaurant. Dr. Oley was educated at St. Benedict’s parochial school, Thomas Jefferson High School, University of Richmond, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Virginia Tech in 1975 and A Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia in 1979. Dr. Oley founded this practice in 1979, in 1995 he built the building in which the practice is now located.
Dr. Oley is a member of the Richmond Dental Society, the Virginia Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. He is a member of St. Anthony’s Church, St. Charbel, and is a member of the Caldwell Society ut prosum. He is in the Hokie Club and MCV alumni association. Dr. Oley does pro bono work for Little Sisters of the Poor and the New River Dental Clinic.
His major interests include the five “F’s”, family, faith, friends, football and food. His hobbies include reading non-fiction, the Civil War, cooking and eating. Dr. Oley wanted his friends to know he was invited to be in the “Who’s Who” of general dentists, but declined.
Dr. Paul J. Shaia
Dr. Shaia has been setting the highest standards of excellence in dentistry for over 30 years! A native of Richmond, Dr. Shaia attended Saint Bridget’s School, then Douglas Freeman High School. After high school, he graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1977, and afterwards, graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in 1981, with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. As an esteemed member of the dental community, Dr. Shaia is an active member in many leading dental organizations.
Dr. Shaia and his wife, Lina, still live in Richmond raising their two daughters, Souad Marie and Noor. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Dr. Stephen B. Kopelove
Dr. Stephen Kopelove has been practicing dentistry for nearly 40 years, since graduating from the Medical College of Virginia Dental School in 1976. In order to keep up-to-date with the latest advances in dentistry. Dr. Kopelove attends many hours of continuing education programs every year on a wide variety of dental topics, hosted by organizations such as the American Dental Association.
He currently resides with his wife, Patricia, in King William County on the Mattaponni River. Dr. Kopelove and his wife have three children and five grandchildren. He enjoys going to the gym, fishing, boating, waterskiing, jet skiing and shooting.
Dr. Lylarose A. Wilby Craig
Dr. Wilby Craig grew up in Richmond, graduating Salutatorian from John Randolph Tucker High School. She then attended the University of Virginia from which she earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with a specialization in biological sciences. She graduated from the Medical College of Virginia with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Wilby works very well with children and adults.
Dr. Wilby Craig is happily married to Ross Craig, and they love spending time with their four sons. They enjoy season tickets to Cavalier football games and are avid Pittsburgh Steeler fans. Dr. Wilby Craig spends much of her free time hiking and skiing in the Pennsylvania and Virginia mountains.
Dr. Gregory A. Poquis
Dr. Poquis is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where he majored in chemistry with a specialization in biochemistry. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Poquis joined the practice of Drs. Oley, Shaia & Associates in 1999.
Dr. Poquis and his wife, Dr. April Bridges-Poquis, an orthodontist practicing in the Southside of Richmond, enjoy living in Richmond with their son, Ryan. His hobbies include weightlifting, playing the piano, and playing video games. Dr. Poquis is also a big fan of UVA football and basketball.
Dr. Ralph "Chip" Anderson
Dr. Ralph “Chip” Anderson graduated from VCU-MCV school of Dentistry in 1995 with honors. Dr. Chip, as he is better known, then obtained his Orthodontics degree and Masters from the University of Louisville in 1997. He is also a U.S. Army veteran having proudly served in Korea, as well as Ft. Ord, CA. as a Signal Corps officer.
Dr. Anderson has been working with Dr. Oley and his staff since 1999 as the orthodontic specialist. He is well versed in early interceptive treatment as well as traditional and functional orthodontic treatment modalities. In addition, Dr. Chip is an Invisalign Premier Provider, which means he has achieved an exceptional level of Invisalign experience which only about 5% of North American doctors attain.
Chip loves pro football and is an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoys listening to music and surfing the net. He has been married to Margaux since 1990. They have two children: Ariana and Angelina. Ariana passed away from Acute Myeloid Leukemia at age three. The Anderson’s have been active raising funds to help find a cure for these diseases.
